Coaching Policies & Expectations

This page outlines what you can expect from our coaching relationship—how sessions are scheduled, what’s included, and how we maintain trust and ethical boundaries.

Scheduling & Attendance

Late Arrivals

I’ll remain in our Zoom room or on the phone line for 5 minutes past the scheduled start time. If I haven’t heard from you by then, I’ll assume something came up and will log off. You’re always welcome to reschedule using the link provided in your confirmation email.

Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be forfeited unless due to an emergency.
If this is a challenging season for scheduling, I’m happy to revisit how we structure our sessions.

Recording, Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries

Recording

Sessions are recorded by default and shared with you via a private link unless you request not to be recorded. Recordings are for your personal use only and are not stored by The Good Org beyond 30 days.

Supervision & Credentialing

To support my ongoing development, I may consult with a certified coaching supervisor or submit anonymized recordings for credentialing (e.g., ICF). These professionals follow strict confidentiality and ethical guidelines.

Confidentiality

Your coaching sessions are confidential, with only a few exceptions as outlined below.

Scope of Coaching

  • Coaching is not therapy, medical care, legal advice, or crisis intervention.
  • We may talk about meaningful, emotional topics—but coaching is not a substitute for clinical or legal services.
  • You are fully responsible for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes. Coaching supports clarity and progress, but it does not guarantee specific results.

Legal & Ethical Exceptions

Your privacy is a priority. However, I may break confidentiality if:

  • You express an explicit intent to harm yourself or another person
  • You express an explicit intent to harm your employer’s business or property

This does not apply to venting, emotional frustration, or hypotheticals—only direct, credible threats of harm.

Collaboration with Other Professionals

If you’re currently working with a therapist or licensed provider, I recommend (but do not require) that you let them know you’re also receiving coaching. This helps create aligned support and avoid confusion or duplication across your care team.
